The largest waterfall (70 meters) of Kissavos in the gorge of exceptional beauty “Kalypso” is located above the villages of Kokkino Nero and Karitsa.
Polydendri Forest

From the heart of Mavrovounio, stretching down to the sea, lies the former royal estate of Polydendri with an area of 34,791 acres and an altitude of 1,054m with the beautiful Polydendri Forest, one of the most organized forests in our country.
The lake of Skiti
The lake of Skiti is located near the village of the same name, surrounded by hills with chestnut and walnut trees.
Canoeing activities are organized at the lake.
Velika Castle
It is a fortification of the early Christian times (6th century), located on the hill east of the Monastery of Theologos in Melivonia, a short distance from the sea. It was built on the site of the Acropolis of ancient Melivius, the city of the Homeric king Philoctetes, which was destroyed by the Romans in 168 BC. It offers an overview of all the coastal settlements, from Cape Dermatas to Mavrovouni, which belonged to the territory of the ancient city and were located along the coastal road from Macedonia to southern Greece. The castle has an area of 21 acres with 2-meter-thick walls, while its height reaches 3 meters in places. Five towers and two gates have been uncovered on the eastern and southern sides, which have been preserved at a greater height. On the south side, parallel to the Byzantine wall, a significant part of the ancient fortification is preserved.
